• Special Education Classes Offered Through Special Education Curriculum

     

    English 7

    This course will expose students to writing, reading, proper grammar and proper punctuation. Emphasis is placed on vocabulary development, spelling and paragraph form. Students will be taught using a variety of texts and materials. This course is strictly designed as a remedial class to address severe academic deficiencies and should only be selected by students who are functioning three (3) or more years below grade level. IEPC Recommendation Required.

     

    Math 7

    This course will provide student needs in the way of basic math skills as determined by an individualized evaluation. Students may be taught the basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication or division of whole numbers. Fractions and decimals are introduced and presented in a general format. Students are taught using a variety of materials. This course is strictly designed as a remedial class to address severe academic deficiencies and should only be selected by students who are functioning three (3) or more years below grade level. IEPC Recommendation Required.

     

    Science 7

    A specialized class designed to give students a general background in physical and earth science. This course is strictly designed as a remedial class to address severe academic deficiencies and should only be selected by students who are functioning three (3) or more years below grade level. IEPC Recommendation Required.

     

    Social Studies 7

    A specialized class designed to give students a general background in world geography and history including basic map reading skills. This course is strictly designed as a remedial class to address severe academic deficiencies and should only be selected by students who are functioning three (3) or more years below grade level. IEPC Recommendation Required.

    Science 8

    A specialized science class designed to give students a general background in physical and life science. This course is strictly designed as a remedial class to address severe academic deficiencies and should only be selected by students who are functioning three (3) or more years below grade level.  IEPC Recommendation Required.

     

    History 8

    A specialized class designed to give students a general background in U.S. History from early exploration to the middle 1800’s. This course is strictly designed as a remedial class to address severe academic deficiencies and should only be selected by students who are functioning three (3) or more years below grade level. IEPC Recommendation Required.
